I've just upgraded from netbeans 7.2.1 on fedora 18 with jdk 1.7_u17 to netbeans 7.3 and now I can't activate the "Developing Netbeans" plugin from the plugins page. I get the message:

Activation failed: Not all requested modules can be enabled: [StandardModule:org.netbeans.modules.apisupport.kit jarFile: /usr/local/netbeans-7.3/apisupport/modules/org-netbeans-modules-apisupport-kit.jar, StandardModule:org.netbeans.modules.debugger.jpda.kit jarFile: /usr/local/netbeans-7.3/java/modules/org-netbeans-modules-debugger-jpda-kit.jar, StandardModule:org.netbeans.modules.j2ee.persistence.kit jarFile: /usr/local/netbeans-7.3/java/modules/org-netbeans-modules-j2ee-persistence-kit.jar, StandardModule:org.netbeans.modules.java.kit jarFile: /usr/local/netbeans-7.3/java/modules/org-netbeans-modules-java-kit.jar, StandardModule:org.netbeans.modules.spring.beans jarFile: /usr/local/netbeans-7.3/java/modules/org-netbeans-modules-spring-beans.jar, StandardModule:org.netbeans.modules.hibe

ns-modules-form-kit.jar]

I get this message also when trying to activate other plugins. Can anyone say why. I've read that it might have something to do with me not installing the j2ee plugin but I have done that and I don't see any other such plugins in the list to install.

Hi

I used to use fedora but now use ubuntu, how did you install the product
via the package manager or using the installer from netbeans.org. You
are better off installing manually to your home dir unless you are
sharing the machine as this gives you the correct permissions to add
plugins and to launch the program.

Thanks

David
